----------------
I have a standard setup I use in 9600's which should work in
any PowerMac. I put in an Adaptec 29160 SCSI/PCI card (About
$280.00) and a Quantum Atlas II 10k 36 GB hard drive to boot from
(About $250.00). I like the results I get in 9600's, despite the bus
speed limitation. Plus I can move all this upgrade hardware forward
to a G4 if I want to.

There are some issues with the Adaptec 29160 card that might
be solved by using the ATTO card, but I don't know, I haven't used
the ATTO. I have found workarounds for the issues and they don't
bother me much.
