Thanks, I will toss the rascals. Actually I trashed Colour Sync and the Profiles too because it seemed at some point that it was being disabled anyway by OS 8.6. - it was there from my successful easy install from 7.6.1. I can always re-install Colour sync if need be?? Opened Real Player twice and twice, as precipitated this trouble, it froze me out instantly and wouldn't esc-Quit either. I think that on my attempted restarts the unclosed Player window from the crash site was crashing me again as it was about to reappear. Someone on the list said Real Player wasn't a desirable program to say the least - I'm ready to listen now <grin> Here's what else I have on CD but as yet know next to nothing about: Adaptek Jam 2.5 Toast 5 Coaster 1.1.3 Player Pro 5.02 Sound Studio 2.0.1 SonicWORXArtistBasic Will any of these play RA (Real Audio) files or do they demand "Real Player"? I have Quicktime 5 and it works beautifully for MP3s. Thanks, and I'll be signing off for a few hours. Terry -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
