For surfing, I'd suggest more ram.  Get two or more 128MB sticks and then
stick your browser cache in memory (either directly or via a ram disk).

For games, if they do a lot of rendering you're probably bottlenecked by
the graphics card more than the CPU.  Are you using the on-board video
or a PCI video card?

The software control panel that came with your G3 card should allow you
to do that.  Otherwise, you can download a free one from powerlogix
(www.powerlogix.com).  But no, I wouldn't expect a higher cache ratio
to be very noticeable for most applications.
