Some folks love Epsons. Some folks do not.
I think that the lovers of Epson use their
printers daily, and use 'em a lot.
I am an intermittent user, and my Epson 900
therefore needs frequent nozzle cleanings,
which i find annoying.
At work I have a Lexmark z53, which uses
Hewlett Packard type cartridges: new print heads
with each cartridge. I like the Lexmark.
And the z53 Lexmark is on sale somewhere for $50.

I intermittently have those streaks that you
write about. It seems that a new cartridge
usually fixes it. I only use Epson brand cartridges.

As a work around, I will print 5 copies of a page,
and usually one of the 5 is without the streaks.
(This is,, of course,, not helpful if printing a 12 page document.)
