I have been waiting for the price of digital cameras to come down and I see some (2.0 - 2.1 megapixel) on sale or on the internet for under $200. I have not really done my homework on these yet. The methods for getting the images from the camera to the computer are not explained in ads I've seen other than references to "smart cards" and some with "USB". Can an old world Mac guy like me with my 8500 and OS 8.6 (firewire card but no USB, yet) buy one of these and expect to easily get the images onto my hard drive. We also have an iMac with USB. Is there generally software required from the camera manufacturer and do I have to worry about Mac compatibility?
