I have a Sonnett G4/800 in this 9600 with 1.2 gigs of ram and 72 gigs 
of 10,000 rpm scsi (with terminated adapters, not a pci card) and 
Jaguar runs like a champ.  Your issues are more than likely your ram.  
I know there are Jag issues like the vid card and ide cards, but unless 
you are running OSX, you won't have those.

Don't give up, the card is a true winner....  unless of course, you got 
a bum card....
