When I first installed my new G4/700 card and had nothing but trouble, my first assumption was that it would be one of the problems that had been mentioned; my memory was interleaved, and I had a wide mix of new 128 meg memory modules with lots of old 8 and 16 meg modules (944 megs total, in my 12-slot 9500). But it turned out not to be any of those; apparently some of the memory wasn't seated well enough for the liking of the G4 card, which worked just fine with the previous XLR8 G3/250 card. After all memory was removed and reseated (even the old 8 and 16 megs along with the new 128 megs), the problems went away. I even decided to try my luck and re-interleave the memory, and that does not seem to cause any problems, either. So the only problem appeares to have been the proper seating of the memory, not the mix I have of very old and new memory, nor having the memory interleaved. ---Alex _______________________________________ God Bless America!
