Address mangling works fine for newsgroups, but the list manager won't let me post unless it's from the address that signed up for the list. So I'm afraid this has to be tackled at the list software end.
I agree with you Jeff and can't understand why any listmaster would allow email addresses to hang out there with a public archive. I manage a number of lists and the archives are for members only, upon login with their passwords.
Certainly someone can join a list and cull names, but this would be tedious, especially since I also do NOT let the membership list be seen by others, including members, as well.
I am very protective of my listmembers' email and wish others would do the same.
