Do you DVD players ever have copy protection bothering your picture?
I have an APEX DVD player hooked to a VCR on AUX 1 and then the VCR output is to the TV.
ONLY on some DVDs do I get a fade in and out of brightness and 3 sync pulses at the top of the picture - is this copy protection at work???
Do you get this on a Computer DVD player?
Bill.
As others has said this sounds like macrovision copy protection at work.
I have an apex player too and I was able to find a new firmware for the player on the net which turned of macrovision, enabled vcd playing (it would only play svcd before) and made it multi region! As that was needed was to burn the new firmware to a cdr and insert it in the player and wait! Try googleing around for you model number and firmware and see if you can find something for yours.
Kyle.
