The 1710 also has a horrible glitch with certain systems, that it will occasionally recalibrate itself to a black screen. This is a documented problem and there is an official fix somewhere on Apple's website. It's just a small file you put in a startup folder of the system on a floppy disk. You start the mac off the floppy and it recalibrates it back to normal. Our shop had several of these monitors. Thankfully they've all died now. Tom
