Hi folks,

Anyone know or know how to find out if a PCI Mac can run imovie
1?
Anand

A PCI Mac can run iMovie 2 without a problem - I run it here on an 8500
FrankenMac and on my 6500/250. OS 9 only though - 8.6 won't run iMovie
2 IIRC.

iMovie 1 should not be a problem for any of the PCI Macs.

I never succeeded either with 8.6 or 9.0.4 but I did not persist. One must
persist with these things. The installer simply would not accept my machine
(7600 with G3/4) No Firewire card but...

Mike: if you would be so kind as to explain the details of your set up,
exact details, system, cards, machine.

The FrankenMac is an 8500 board with a Daystar 333 card in it in a 7300 case.

How I got the system to install iMovie 2 was to use the iBook installation CD and unpack iMovie 2 from the Tomes - Stuffit read them IIRC but maybe TomeReader would be better. It worked after that and created the appropriate directories.

I put it in Applications(OS 9) under iMovie.

Was never any trouble after that except that it's a little slow rendering. I figure more RAM and better video would probably solve that one outright.
