Yes, and not in my opinion.  There is a SCSI version of the Sony and the
high end Pioneers.  The Pioneer one is the professional one that can do all
DVD modes (i.e. including the movie ones that retail ones can't do), and is
like $1000 or more.

I seem to recall a Plextor one as well, but I don't recall the specifics.

I'm sure there are others.
