IMHO, that's a little too broad.  For example, an email from my ex-wife may
be something I don't want, but it isn't spam.

Spam is usually defined as "unsolicited commercial email."  However, anyone
who has gotten one of those "forward this to 20 people or your life will
turn into a bad country song" letters might expand this a little.
