Good for you!  More power to you!

Personally, I can't keep up with the 350 spam emails I get a day, and that
is down from almost 500 a day several weeks ago.  If I didn't use a spam
filter, I would be constantly checking my email program to see who wants
what constantly and I'd never get any work done.  Not to mention having to
determine whether the email is something I care about - like when I receive
emails from not quite as tech saavy people that have their email set up
wrong and so have an incoming address I would never recognize.  But that's
just me.  Guess some people (evidently you and your spouse) are more
efficient than others (like myself) and have much much better memories.
