So it's OK to undermine your own customer base ? Wise business practice for the new millennium 1

People still running a PCI Mac *aren't Apple's customer base!*

Their customer base is something they've sold a system to in this millenium...

Their customer base is using OS X.

OS 9 is dead. Nailed to the perch, pinin' for the fjords, pushing up daisies dead.

Apple is NOT going to expend the R&D or support money to support people who don't support their bottom line. That's a wise business solution for any millenium: concentrate on your *actual* customers, and selling widgets to new ones.

Windows got access to the iTMS because a part of Apple's bottom line (iPod sales)
is going to users of that platform.

OSX and iTMS are merely gimmies to get you to buy new Macs and iPods.

(And you should have *heard the whining pissing and moaning when Apple didn't support Windows 98 with iTMS...)

I'm sorry you all can't afford a new computer, or even a computer new enough to run iTMS (last I looked B&W G3's were selling for $200-$300, and Beige G3's, enough to run OS X, were < $100)

I know, I know...all that legacy software that you're too cheap to upgrade too.

The problem is, that you can't have your cake (ancient systems and software) and eat it too (all the latest goodies) all on Apple's dime.

Deal.
