OSX is on the 3rd release since the intro and getting ready to debut the 4th. And to top it off, the change from 9 to X was a gigantic one.
Is this really a fair comparison? Do you think that when Microsoft starts to gain traction with Longhorn that they'll continue to actively support 98/2k/XP users? How about four years after that?? I think not.

You lose. From <http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/>
Windows System Requirements
* Windows XP or 2000 * QuickTime 6.5.1 (included)
In a way, that makes Flux' point. Win2k was released in 2000. Mac OS 9.1 and 9.2 were released in 2001. (I don't have a date for 9.2.2). So on the older Windows OS, you can run the newest iTunes *AND* the latest QuickTime. But on the newer releases of the Mac OS, you're hozed on both.
It may be Apple's foofey intent to drive us to buying new hardware and OS X... but screwing their older customer base is simply the best marketing Dell never paid for.
