I don't follow you. Me either. :) Tossing away available RAM when you're trying to run processor or memory intensive tasks is ... IMO the only time a RAM Disk is of any use is when you have a lot of extra memory AND you're running a disk i/o intensive application. eg: Having a database live in a RAM Disk. - Dan. I guess you just had to cut your computing teeth on a mchine with 2 MB RAM total. But with a correspondingly smaller OS overhead and a hugely more tightly written non-bloatware OS. Those who were there know what I am talking about. Those who were not don't get thwe concept. IMHO and no offense meant. It is just that the parameters of operation have vastly changed and this has caused a shift in mindset that is a wide chasm away from former conditions.
