Learn where your browser's cache folder lives. Then you can just
drag that one folder to the trash, and empty the trash. The browser
will re-create the empty folder automagically next time you launch it.
It may be prudent to mention, altho knowing the location
is all good, but after it is known, a simple Alias made of
the/them and putting that on the DT or in AppleMenu
will save time by opening the folder hit Cmd+a to select
All and follow w/ Cmd+Delete and they're gone, if you're
really into dumping cache/s manually vs. automajically
(as Adrian's happily found the RAM Disk trick just worx
fine day after day w/o the need of the writing of all that
cache junk to your HD's directories and/or their deletions
n/either later, dig), that is. HTHs

Long before I owned a Mac or for that matter was online. I used a
hallowed, revered and still respected platform that was non-Windbloze.
A RAM disk was a necessity in those days. But I had forgotten it's
usefulness. My link with the cyber world was by magazine disks. Even
floppies.
Before and after the advent of CDs the CLI had to be used in order to
install new software for even a trial.
Mystifying and troublesome it was, yes ! ( Forgive me the Yoda-speak
I saw the new one recently !)
The best way around this was to install to the RAM Disk and then if
it was well behaved and you liked it you then easily transferred it
to the HD.
Also highly math intensive programs could be copied to RAM Disk to
run more efficiently. A valuable method even with dynamic memory. and
prioritized multitasking. When I got a 16 MB machine I thought it was huge!
So thanks Bill for bringing mew back to a solution I had long
ignored. Not sure why. It was just out of my mindset for the time I
have used Macs.
