This is now pointing to something with windows. Have you run SFC in
full mode. That is to replace missing and update changes. It will take
some time as you may have to answer a number of update questions. If
the date or version is newer, then you want to accept the change. If its
older, then you will want to use the restore. It will also replace any
missing files. If this doesn't work, then the next thing would be to
reinstall windows (right over the existing) to further repair or replace
bad files. It will keep all of your settings, etc, and only replace any
custom opening screens. If you don't have the Windows CD, then you will
have all the files you need on your hard drive in
C:\Windows\Options\Cabs. There will be a setup.exe file in that folder
that will start the reinstall of windows from there.
