First, I should have checked to see if youi were running Win 98. If so,
there is a utility called System File Checker (SFC).  You can run it by
going to Start, Run and enter SFC then pressing Enter.  If you have
win95, then the only option is to reinstall windows via the procedure of
going to the Windows CD or to c:\Windows\options\cabs if you don't have
the cd. In that folder find the file SETUP.EXE and double click on it to
start the reinstallation.
