I guess we use mice the same way. I know after 12+ hrs a
day, every day 52/365, mine sees many thousands of 'clicks'
and 'drags' per day and batteries are not going to last as
long as they would for a 'normal' PC user. I'm going to see
what I can find out on those odd cursor movements. Logitech
makes GREAT products, but their support is the worse I've
ever seen, so I'm not going to even attempt it this time.
Software is rather buggy too. FYI, the software that came
with this 'cordless mouseman pro' I use now, is screwed up.
Just like 'mouseware' versions after 8.0 (for their other
cordless balled models), there is no way of removing the
mouse icon from the sys tray. EVEN AFTER you uncheck the box
in it's properties, it remains when you restart. With my
other Logitech cordless mouse I had to stay with V8.0.
(versions after 8.0 to 9. [something] had this problem).
With the new one, it has to use a different type of software
and version since it's a totally different mouse. It came
with 9.28 and it was plagued by the same problem. I tried
v9.4 (I think it is) from their site, and it worked ok.

I even moved the mouse from the PS/2 port to the USB port,
and still on occasion have that odd movement. I bet it's
software related because I can almost swear that when I first
got this mouse and tested it on another HD With the old
version 8.0 mouseware, it did NOT have that jerky movement!
But of course, that software would not work....the
programmable button functions was not there, therefore HAD to
use at least v9.28 that came with it. (preferably. v9.4) In
my case I only have that odd movement when I copy and paste
something, or try to move the cursor when a webpage is
loading.

Yes Clint, mine has been jerky as well which normally is not
a problem but
lately with a lot of graphics tweaking on hand it has become
a nuisance so
much that I'm about to get a corded model. BTW, my brother
inlaw has a
cordless keyboard and has had the same batteries in it for
almost 9
months. I can just imagine this mouse with the kids computer
after a few
days they would be looking all over the house for the lost
mouse ;-)
