There were other reasons too. Outlook has this same multiple browser window problem that OE does. I do not believe it's an email program limitation, I think this problem is a BROWSER limitation (IE 5.5 & 6). I cannot use another email program because I've used OE since 'day 1' and I can use it blindfolded! :) I'd have to learn another email program and I don't have time for that. ;-) I'd really appreciate if you or someone could inform me as to the ME OS problems. I assume any updates or patches do not address the "ME problems"? That's one of the first mod's I do to win98 when I reformat or install it, but it's only for typing in URL's in the address bar, or clicking favorites, URL shortcuts on the desktop, etc. It has never had any bearing on OE in any case that I personally have seen. If this DOES work for anyone on 98 and IE 5.5 or 6, it could have something to do with the patches/security updates that are installed. But I CAN say that every win98 PC (AND Win2K PC) that used IE 5.5 or IE 6, that method has never worked for multiple browser windows from OE. NOTHING I have tried has ever worked to fix it. I check this feature BEFORE any updates or patches are installed, and afterwards. This is one of the reasons I had to quit using win2k. And since it appears that XP is still plagued with this problem, I guess I'm stuck with win98.
