I'm not sure if you're talking about IE history, or IE auto complete. In the address bar, when you type things and IE 'remembers' them, that is your history folder. Clear your history, and that won't happen. If they are not listed in your history folder......look again, or it's possible some may be hidden. Make sure you have 'show all files' checked. Be sure to 'expand' each domain/URL/website entry, and note that from the SAME domain, some can be listed under the www prefix, and some without it. Also note that many domains can use subdomains so they would be listed differently, and they can also use www1.whatever, www2.whatever, etc. You don't say what OS you're using, so without that I can't say much more. (XP has things in a different area, and I forgot what browser is default with XP).
If you are talking about drop down selections that IE will give you on types of forms, go to 'options' in IE then the 'content' tab, and you'll see the 'auto complete' button there for it's options. If you want to save these things, go to the registry and search for one of them, then you should be able to pin down the exact key(s) to export. They may also be in the user.dat file. It would be better to simply save your favorites folder, then transfer them to a new HD. What is not in your favorites folder, add them from all those URL's you have saved. You should know that things only stay in the history a finite period of time that you set (from 0 days to 999 days). -Clint God Bless Us All Clint Hamilton, Owner Want to exchange links with us? http://OrpheusComputing.com ----- Original Message ----- From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To one and all, Not sure if my subject is at all clear but here goes ---- What I am trying to find is the complete list of all the URLs that have been visited when using IE. However, I am finding what I think is a problem in obtaining them. When I run IE (am running 5.5), and click on the down arrow in the Address locator, it brings up a list of various and sundry URLs that have been visited. This becomes even more so when I start to type a URL in the address bar that I have previously visited, and all possible sites that were visited within that master URL are listed as possible to fill in and revist - this sometimes will result in 10+ complete URLs from starting the listing of the master where things start from. BUT, if I open explorer, and go to the history folder and explore each folder under each week or day directory, the amount of IE icons that get displayed from all folders does not seem to match anywhere near the amount of URLs you get listed and displayed when you view that from the down arrow list. Can the two sets of values be the same??? If they are not, is there another location where the complete and full list of all URLs that have been visited are kept on the system??? I am in need of a list of all URLs I have visited on this system, so I can save it off system and put it on my new system, with the current system totally wiped out for a complete new install from scratch shortly after I get critical files transfered.
