I too swore I would never buy a Dell.. but the Gateways. were so much more
money.. And I didnt' buy "cheap". I spent over 2000.00 .. after rebates
it'll be about 1987.00.. but even still, its not a cheapie machine..

I didnt' want an HP.. so I was limited.. and my ex.. had just bought a Dell
and was happy with his machine.

So, here I sit.. wating 'rather impatiently now'.. LOL.. For Dell techs to
come and install a new hard drive.. Maybe THEN, I"ll be in good to go..

I just had to call Earthlink, about something.. and told the guy there, part
of the problem- with that as soon as I got on the net.. I had the wor*.. and
he said,, Almost everyone.. who's gotten new computers.. with XP.. has
called that they've gotten it too.He said, 95% of the tech calls in the last
few weeks. have been because of this dreaded wor*..

So, at least I''m not "alone".. but that doesnt make it better. LOL

Thanks Cindy.. I wasnt about to "give in".. THEY offered.. I didnt' ask for
the tech to come out. I was going to install the SR Cds.. and that was going
to be it.. But. when  they offered me the tech. I said, great.. . and then -
they had the NERVE to say,, NO.. Well, that wasn't going to happen.. Not to
me... I dont' deal well with NO'!!!!

So, now - I'm getting a tech coming out. and a new hard drive.. And
hopefully, this computer will be up and running - to perfection<smile>.. It
had better.

So, the saga continues..
