I have a similar problem and it seems to happen intermittently. All of a sudden I am no longer able to download any sites except for (usually) Google. When I look at the details, I am sending (request for data) but none is coming back. It's like my ISP just quit sending me any data but they say that is not so. Sometimes I can load my ISP's website when I can't load anything else.
I am using W98SE and IE6.
