Dear Rich,
On the Mac, in Word, as with most of my other applications, I CAN make a .pdf, and I only have Acrobat Reader. In Word, it's an option in the Print menu box: Save As PDF. And everything is fine in the resultant .pdfs except that the bullets are missing. An example is at http://www.cffpp.org/briefings/pdfs/brief_0306.pdf. I have tried removing the bullets, saving, and re-formatting, but that doesn't help. Yes, I can add them manually on a Mac with Option–8, but some of these documents are quite long.
Any other ideas? And BTW, I have gotten a bunch of e-mails from you and your cohorts addressed to someone named Melvin, who is having a completely dissimilar problem. Thanks,
Jeannie Bergmann

Answer to question #2.

You have to have Acrobat (the full version, not the Reader) installed on
your machine to make a PDF from any version of Word. One does not save a
PDF from Word, you print it.

Dear PDF Expert,
I am trying to make a .pdf from a PC-created Word 97 .doc
that has been
e-mailed to me as an attachment. I am opening it in the
current version
of Word for the Mac. When I save it as a .pdf by using the option on
the Print menu, all the bullets disappear in the .pdf. Is there a way
to save it as a .pdf on the Mac and keep the bullet formatting?

Also, does Word 97 have the capability to save as a .pdf? My sender
can't seem to find that option. Thanks for your help.
