I wonder if using the pro Fuji such as NPS film might work
better than the amateur film. The Superias are in the same class
(well, except they are better in most respects) as the Kodak
Gold films. Actually, it's nice that Kodak has caught up in the
marketplace again. Fuji had pulled pretty far ahead there for a
while, but the Portra filma are superb, and from what I have
heard the Supra's are pretty darned good also.
Mafud, have you some empirical evidence to back up your
statement? It would seem to me that a company putting film on
the market that doesn't scan well wouldn't be very smart at this
point. Of course, Fuji may feel the scanning market isn't big
enough to start picking the cherries yet.
An interesting discussion also could be had by the people (I am
not one of them) who do both scanning and printing negatives. I
am curious if optimizing a film for scanning compromises it's
ability to produce a good traditional print, or vice versa.
Anyone have any thoughts on that?
