Nobody in their right mind would faff about plugging up the camera to the
computer! Aside from the chore, most current DSLRs have plastic/rubber
coverings for the data ports and we al know what happens to plastic/
rubber coverings once enough movement is introduced.

Card readers are relatively cheap. This way, you can upgrade the import
hardware as the technology advances. I have 2 FireWire card readers, a
Fuji (�50) and a Lexar (�80), and a cheap backup USB reader (�9.99). The
only issue I have is how long the plastic CF card door will last - but
that's replaceable and probably a number of years.
