Well, you have to admit if you had a 20-35mm, 18-35mm, 16-45mm, 14mm, 15mm
and 20mm in the bag it would be a bit hard to decide which one to pull out
and fit on the camera when a photo opportunity came up.  In all fairness
though, the above lenses do vary in price and performance so I guess there's
something there for everyone.

I think Pentax made a good decision producing the 16-45 as the first DA lens
with its approx 24-70 coverage.  I find it a bit surprising that its release
didn't coincide with the release of the *istD.

I used to use a 28-70 and a 19-35 combination with 35mm film but the DA lens
goes wide enough that I would have to think long and hard before getting a
wider lens.  I certainly couldn't justify getting a 12-24 when the DA16-45
covers most of that range already.  Maybe a 12mm prime though...
