Well, you have to admit if you had a 20-35mm, 18-35mm, 16-45mm, 14mm, 15mm and 20mm in the bag it would be a bit hard to decide which one to pull out and fit on the camera when a photo opportunity came up. In all fairness though, the above lenses do vary in price and performance so I guess there's something there for everyone.
I think Pentax made a good decision producing the 16-45 as the first DA lens with its approx 24-70 coverage. I find it a bit surprising that its release didn't coincide with the release of the *istD. I used to use a 28-70 and a 19-35 combination with 35mm film but the DA lens goes wide enough that I would have to think long and hard before getting a wider lens. I certainly couldn't justify getting a 12-24 when the DA16-45 covers most of that range already. Maybe a 12mm prime though... ----- Original Message ----- From: Kostas Kavoussanakis <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, February 12, 2004 10:20 PM Subject: Re: Two new Pentax products to be announced today > On Thu, 12 Feb 2004, Nenad Djurdjevic wrote: > > > Yes.
