I ordered it, motivated in part by the 16-45. I think that's a slightly better lens than the Sigma 17-35 I'm using now. Even just having the extra 10mm on the long end will make it much better for much of what I do. However, I'm not a pro. But you all know that you can't believe anything Frank says <vvbg>.

I agree with Pat.  Paul, you're a pro, you know what you want, you're
apparently much more than satisfied with what the *istD does for you,
you're now intimately familiar with it.

Wait a couple of months for what?  A discount of a couple of hundred?
How much money can you make off having a second body in that time?  My
bet is "more than the couple of hundred you'll save by waiting".
