OTOH Pentax is using SD cards in the Optio line, so maybe they want to standardize on that. But then the Baby should be a dual format (CF and SD) to allow for the transition for people that bought the ist D and the possibility to use your Optio's card in the baby in some emergency cases.
If you think this is a moot point, just look at the memory stick challenged Sony. They made sure that the F828 and V3 can take both CF and stick. On the high end digicams the XD challenged Olympus is doing the same.
So maybe it's actually important.
