well, everyone seems to be in on it then, since individual companies seem to
forecast around the same total, as do industry groups, at about 3.6M total
for the coming year. not that the industry isn't full of circular logic, but
the spread isn't as large as one might otherwise expect. as i said earlier
Dec-2004 CIPA numbers came in pretty close to the totals that were forecast
for DSLRs.

But if
your "forecast figures" particularly by N/C have to be believed (I am not
questioning your credibility, but the makers'), it is overly optimistic
(or
deliberately inflated). They can "forecast' anything they want. After
some
more months of trend watching, the truth might come out.
