I noticed that. It's very interesting - I had hoped that the DSLR line would be even smaller than the film SLRs, as there was no film/film transport to accommodate. No doubt the extra batteries and electronics account for that. Still a disappointment. I also find that the D (not handled any of the others) is very oddly balanced. Much heavier on the left than the right.
