Actually, I'm not sure I'd ever be able to do it at all. My longest "transit" was a very fair weather run from Port Everglades to Grand Bahama and back. Only about six hours. On a medium size liner, with stabilizers deployed, in seas running only two to four feet, roll just barely perceptible, really. And I still got seasick the instant I couldn't see the horizon.
