Here is the thing, you get what you pay for. On motherboard raid is crap, don't even bother unless your just going for raid 1, even then, the performance on that drive will be HALF what it was before. You really do want one of the expensive adaptec ata raid controller cards, and stick as much cache on the card as you can afford. At that point, may as well pick up a 3rd disc and run raid 5. Redundancy and speed!
