That's been the charge against Pentax from as long ago as the early 80's. When I first moved to this area, I went in to "the" local camera shop only to be told that they didn't stock Pentax due to their high volume purchase requirements. I'm not familiar with their current policy in this regard, but whatever it is, it's hard to imagine it couldn't have been fixed long since. More than likely it's an excuse to put off Pentax shoppers in favor of Cankon spiffs.
