Well, I'm saying that the store that I have bought half of my Pentax
equipment at (which is quite a bit) is no longer carrying Pentax.
Essentially, the stores that were carrying Pentax fairly recently are
no longer carrying them. The problem may have existed for a long
time, but these are very recent events.

It was interesting to note, I asked if I could order one, and both
stores said no. So they are not even taking orders anymore.

That sounds more like they are no longer an authorized dealer. One or the other has pulled the plug. FWIW, my local store has a very nice selection of Pentax gear. I was in yesterday and noted several kits and many, many lenses, including most all the Limiteds and DA* lenses in stock. They don't have the 200mm or 300mm and haven't got a clue about the availability of the 60-250 or 55/1.4.

I've decided that the 60-250 is forever vapourware, and have taken steps to fill in my lens line without it. Whether it matters to them or not, Pentax just lost a sale on that lens by being so stupidly slow about marketing it.
