Well, I'm saying that the store that I have bought half of my Pentax
equipment at (which is quite a bit) is no longer carrying Pentax.
Essentially, the stores that were carrying Pentax fairly recently are
no longer carrying them. The problem may have existed for a long
time, but these are very recent events.
It was interesting to note, I asked if I could order one, and both
stores said no. So they are not even taking orders anymore.
A friend of mine who works at Keeble & Shuchat down near San Jose said
Pentax doesn't have a local rep anymore Pentax is so difficult to order
from now that K&S is liquidating all their Pentax stuff. I almost bought
the 16-50 from them, but then shit happened and I had to pass on it.
Frankly, I'm worried about Pentax. They had a great marketing campaign with
those text-heavy Pentaxian ads (in my opinion, anyway), but that seems to
have been abandoned along with their reps. I don't know what their strategy
is now, but as others have pointed out, Pentax is all but gone from stores
these days. Seeing a Pentax camera in use out in public is just as rare.
Hey Pentax guys? Please get your heads out of your asses and fix this. I'd
really rather not have my brand of choice go out of business, thanks.
