I posted earlier on a quick note on having spent an afternoon with the K-x. Having spent some time with the K-7 earlier (all experiences courtesy of a local camera dealer) the transition between both of them was seamless; remembering that there is only one dial vs the K-7's two and how the focus points were laid out (or not) I felt it was shooting with the same camera. Yeah, the K-x is smaller than the K-7 and does not have weather sealing; focusing was quick and 'transparent' that I did not miss the focus points (I was shooting with a DA 55-300). It seemed quite accurate too.
It is a bit louder than the K-7 but not as bad as my K10D which can wake up the dead. The output (jpegs) looks great out of the camera; it does not have the magenta issue that haunts the K20D/K-7. That's most likely because of a different sensor. I'm the type of person who thinks "the K-7 is out so now I can afford to buy the K20D" but having handled the K-7, I decided to skip the K20D. Now having handled the K-x, I'm sort of paralyzed because I think the K-x is actually a better camera...so I'm procrastinating waiting if the successor to the K-7 may use the same sensor of the K-x. Having a perfectly working K10D & *ist DS, I think I can afford to procrastinate. http://www.flickr.com/photos/bongmanayon/sets/72157622367038869/ On Sat, Nov 7, 2009 at 1:12 PM, Leon Altoff <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi All, > > I ran into an old friend yesterday who is planning on upgrading from a > compact to a DSLR as he is tired of the lack of quality of some of his > images.
