It seems a very nice body, I am tempted by its size and good high ISO

My only concern is the trouble that some people is having with rechargeable batteries (see dpreview forum threads). Having owned a Ds and owning now a
K20D, I can say that, despite I much prefer the universality of AA
batteries, the proprietary lithium ones seem more reliable.

The Sanyo Eneloops fix problems with AA-size batteries.

Nope, they don't. I'm testing the K-x right now and Eneloops are not better than Duracell NiMH's. First I tried Duracell 2300mAh's and wasn't impressed at all. After some 50 or 60 shots camera blacked out. Took Eneloops from my AF-360FGZ, charged 'em properly yesterday evening, made some 4 or 5 test shots... and got depleted battery warning today morning. Shortly after that camera simply switched off. Set of Panasonic Evoia alkalines helped me out. I put the same Eneloops (and Duracells) back to flashguns and those work fine. Now I'm trying my third set of rechargeables - Energizer 2500mAh. I didn't even charged em but just placed to camera as they came from drawer. Surprisingly they work quite OK, at least camera turns on every time. It may show red "empty battery" sign, but works fine and even charges the pop-up flash.
