Mark, I agree with you and I wasn't really upset or frustrated by that.
However, since the guy who told me that it wasn't in the shop but
actually was elsewhere figured it out from his computer, I must conclude
that it is possible to change their web site a bit. Exactly as follows:
instead of writing on their web pages "in stock" they could say "in
stock/in store" meaning that it can be bought both on line and in
person. Or "in stock/out of store" meaning my situation - available on
line but not in their outlet...

earlier post: Online retailers who also do business in a "brick and
mortar" store are obliged to keep separate inventories for each. It
