I found a Lodge omelette skillet in the basement of a house I was renoing.
Coated in dry crusty grease embedded with decades of filth, and under that a coating of Lord knows what, for sure the glue from the label hadn't been removed. I ended up sanding it with a random orbital sander and then ran it through my gas oven's cleaning cycle.
It's now in daily use cooking everything egg skillet.
