serious hint. I have a 380 V siemens oven and I regularly use it to clean/refresh old cast iron cookwares. pyrolytic self cleaning goes up to 500 degrees celsius. they look (and sell) like new afterwards. actually knowledge gathered from a US web site about the dutch oven et al. le creusets will also work great directly over a gas burner so the enamel will handle the heat just fine.
