and just to show it works both ways, i was a Photoshop pro (literally), and yet for photography purposes, i find Aperture so useful that lately i open Photoshop only every month or three; i am a skilled retoucher, but i find i don't do it much with my own photos, and Aperture's cloning etc. has been plenty good enough
on the other hand, i have in mind some compositing projects, and Photoshop will be the clear choice for those
