I have had lots of similar experiences--you also have to zoom in so the back
roads show up, as well as the city side-streets. Cheers, Christine
All good advice that I am following.
You have to add a click and drag point between every intersection on the
Parkway or Google will jump off to an adjacent highway.
The problem I'm having is Google hates the Blue Ridge Parkway so much
that I run out of points to click and drag. I've also tried "Add
Destination".
You can force it to follow the Parkway if you add enough intermediate
destinations that are between the intersections with other highways, but
adding a destination is limited to the letters of the alphabet (i.e. you
can only add 25 destinations to your starting point).
I'm currently working on combining multiple maps with adding a whole
bunch of intermediate destinations with click & drag in between to see
if I can get it to provide the information I want.
I don't really need the map part, I know how to find Skyline Drive & the
Parkway. It's the times and distances I'm trying to work out, to figure
how many days to allow and which camping areas to make reservations for.
