Hmmmm... thanks Tom. My residual glow certainly isn't so bright I could read a T shirt by it. I can only make out a faint white band, which, if I hold my hand up in front of it, shows my hand's silhouette. I may just do as you did and swap it over. Perhaps your lightbox uses tubes of a different construction too. Was it designed to be used in a darkroom?
