When you have to frequently load (and also unload) film while trying
to keep your balance while holding on with one hand (as much as
possible) to the rail on a pitching boat, you learn all the tricks
that tend to make loading quick and reliable.

For similar reasons, I use a couple of Program Pluses (one is
actually a Program A) as my dedicated "boat bodies", even though I
use Super Programs and LX's for almost everything else, simply
because the shutter mode dial is so easy to operate with a flick if
the right index finger, while one of these bodies (and its attached
ME II winder) is held comfortably in the right hand (with a wrist
strap around the right wrist for security). In contrast, operating
the shutter mode dial on a Super Program is more involved and is
certainly less convenient under boat conditions.

Back in the 80's I used a pair of ME Supers as my "boat bodies", and
I (very carefully) used a drop of "super glue" on the shutter mode
dial of each to lock the little white button (that is used to keep
the dial in Auto) in the "depressed" position, so that I could turn
the shutter mode dial from Lock to Auto to Manual and back with a
flick of the right index finger, without having to press the little
white button down each time.

But I digress...
