I only managed to take a couple of photos this year that I think may be
worth submitting. I figure I might as well take a shot at it. Glad to

You're saying I dragged your sorry butt all over the bay area and you didn't

That's gratitude for you.

I got some GREAT shots while I was out there! Unfortunately, they're all on two
dead hard drives -- both RAW and JPEGs! I guess my motherboard sent voltage
spikes to them through the USB as it was going down, and I don't have the
resources to try to recover them. Every shot I ever took before this past July

Ouch. Sorry to hear that. You might want to try mounting the drives in new
enclosures, which can be had for less than twenty bucks.. I'm no tech expert,
but I suppose there's a chance that it's just the case electronics that re
damged.

Thanks, Paul.

I tried mounting them internally on different computers and everything. No dice. So, I guess the only thing I can do is be grateful for the fact that I only had about 1 1/2 years' worth of semi-seriously pursued photography to lose. And then I can hope for some kind of surprise financial windfall where all I have to do is spend a night in the haunted house of a recently deceased, long-lost relative in order to inherit a secret fortune.
