No Charles, you're not alone.
My DA60-250/4 has similar mystical properties.
Sometimes it will not autofocus.
I check the K-5's batteries.
I take it off, clean the contacts on the lens and camera and still no joy.
Then I manually shift the focus and try that.
Eventually it returns to autofocusing.
I'd send the lens in, but I can't bear to part with it until it's a hard fail.
