Thank you, Christine. May help me define the same problem one day. ;-)
I used CRIS a few years ago for a K20D memory card port problem. They were
timely and it only took one "repair."

So, I found my work order from CRIS, dated last March.  It says:
"Repaired Reflex Mirror/Shutter Overrun Problem", along with firmware
update, clean, check, etc.

The problem I had with my k-5 I heard described in some places as
"random mirror actuation".  Going back over my note to CRIS,  I see
that I remarked that it seemed to happen more often with a fully
charged battery... and that the same battery in the k-7 didn't produce
the same symptoms... fwiw.

I will say that CRIS was quite speedy in repairing & returning my
camera, and they even called me to let me know it was on its way.  It
wasn't even gone 2 weeks.

Best of luck, Jack...
